If you are unsure about how many first aiders you need within your workplace then we encourage you to use our first aid needs calculator. Although the calculations are based on estimates, the software does produce reasonably accurate results and can guide you to make an informed decision. Please note that our software has been designed as a tool that produces recommendations in order to guide and support those organising first aid training and under no circumstances is meant to replace a formal assessment of risk. You can access our calculator here.
No, due to the short nature of this course (6 hours) as well as our inability to assess practical based competencies such as CPR, we are unable to deliver this course online. We are, however, able to offer the 3-day QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) in a ‘blended learning’ format in which you can reduce your classroom hours by completing 1-day of online e-learning to leave only 2-days’ worth of face-to-face training rather than 3. Please see our QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) – Blended to learn more.
Every student participating in training will be screened prior to being allowed into the venue. Screening precautions will include answering a number of simple questions in line with the latest Public Health England advice along with having their temperatures taken. As well as this, all students will be issued with a disposable face mask as well as gloves, aprons and visors if required. Alcohol sanitiser is available throughout the venue as are hand washing facilities. Students will be asked to scan an NHS test and trace barcode upon their arrival as well as leave an email address in order to be contactable if they should be advised to self-isolate.

If you anticipate that you have any learning difficulties/language barriers that have the potential to disadvantage you from achieving this emergency first aid qualification, please inform us at the earliest available opportunity so that we are able to make reasonable adjustments for you. These can include extended time for examinations, a scribe to help you complete paperwork or an increase in guided learning hours (GLH). As well as this, we are able to offer coloured paper, overlays and rulers for dyslexic students in addition to personalised 1-2-1 support packages if required. We are also, with reasonable notice, able to provide examinations and supporting material in different languages for ESL students with language barriers.
Water, tea, coffee and biscuits are provided for each student; however, we are unable to provide lunch and so you will need to make your own lunch arrangements. We do have a kitchenette on site that contains a fridge, kettle, microwave and sink that can be used as well as local amenities such as McDonalds, Greggs, Starbucks and Esso that are within walking distance.
If you are unsuccessful in passing one of your assessments you will, in the first instance, be provided with detailed feedback from your assessor as to why the relevant assessment criteria were not met on this occasion. You will then receive a support plan with actionable steps to be taken that will enable you to prepare for a reassessment at a later date. Your reassessment date will depend on the specific qualification you are undertaking and so will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. Resits are offered to our students completely free of charge as per our MTS Passport peace of mind guarantee.
