Recent statistics published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have revealed that approximately 7,075 notices were issued nationally in 2020 as a result of poor workplace health and safety. This transcribed into £35,800,00.00 worth of fines resulting from prosecutions taken, including those referred to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) in Scotland by the HSE where a conviction was achieved.

These figures strongly suggest that workplace risk assessments are not being performed to the required standard and that failure to do so can result in serious damage to an organisation’s finances, reputation and professional credibility.

Whilst the HSE cannot tell you specifically what level of training provision you need within your workplace, they do advise that a training needs assessment should be conducted in all instances.

In order to assist you, all of our training packages come with an optional training needs consultation. This is completely free-of-charge and involves a comprehensive assessment of your workplace to identify what training, equipment and documentation you require in order to be compliant with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974).

Our training needs assessments are delivered in 3 phases.

Phase 1 – Assessment

In this phase we will assess various aspects of your workplace including but not limited to: risks and hazards, accident history, industry type, number of staff members, geographical location and nature of your work.

Phase 2 – Recommendation

During this phase we will consolidate our findings and present a report outlining what training courses, equipment and documentation you may require in order to achieve legal compliance.

Phase 3 – Implementation

During this phase we will organise and deliver any necessary training that is required as well as procure and install any additional equipment and/or documents.
